Many new items today! I have included an expanded calendar and many school news items. I will run Items for Sale and Ways to Help on Thursday.

Apparently Comcast has stopped supporting all Adelphia addresses. All of the remaining Adelphia users in my mailing list were returned as undeliverable with the last two newsletters. If you know anyone who was using an Adelphia address please remind them to send me their new email address so I can continue to send them the news. Due to the large number of subscribers involved, I will not be making individual calls as I do when I just have few returned emails. Thanks for your help.

Seven urban and suburban choral ensembles will join forces to LET FREEDOM SING! in celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each invited group will perform individually, and will come together as one chorus during the concert to perform three selections, accompanied by the Gospel Music Workshop of America instrumental ensemble.

Orator:  Vanessa German
Participating Choirs:
Afro American Music Institute Boys' Choir, Pittsburgh
St. James AME Church Choir, Pittsburgh

Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church Choir, Pittsburgh
Dr. Sheila L. Johnson & "People For Christ", Penn Hills

Workshop of America (GMWA), Beaver Falls

LET FREEDOM SING! will bring together black communities and white communities, city neighborhoods and suburbs, and young and old participants and audience members in the spirit of Dr. King's vision of brotherhood.

Through choral selections and oratory, the event will demonstrate the importance of becoming actively involved in community affairs, working toward a common goal, and how local action can make a contribution to a national effort. Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the "Build the Dream" project to construct the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
