SENIOR FASHION SHOW CANCELLED The Senior Fashion Show that was scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 is now officially cancelled due to lack of student interest. If your child submitted photos for the Slide Show, they are asked to pick up their photos in Mrs. Pianetti�s office. Also, all pre-paid payments that were made for a copy of the DVD will be returned. My thanks to all of you who offered to help with the Fashion Show. I am sorry to see this senior tradition end.
ENTRIES FOR LITERARY MAGAZINE NOW BEING
ACCEPTED
The Young Writers and Poets Club is calling for entries
for its Literary Magazine! All students are welcome to submit a piece of
writing, a piece of art or a photograph to be published. Deadline for
all submissions is April 1st. Submissions forms
are available in the school library.

The committee had an incredibly difficult task of
choosing the top 5 nominees from the list of approximately 50 deserving
candidates. I want to extend a personal note of gratitude to everyone who
took the time to recognize the excellence in our school community by
submitting a nomination. I also want to recognize and congratulate all of
those who were nominated by members of this community for displaying the
qualities of excellence embodied in this award.
The Excellence Awards dinner will be held on Monday,
March 31 at the Panther Café. . I encourage each of you to make your
reservations early so that you can continue to show your support for our
winners.

FYI - If you are interested in
attending the dinner I can send you a copy of the
reservation form, just send me an email with "Excellence Dinner" in the
subject line. The reservations need to be returned to Karen Cadwell at the
Administration Office by Wednesday, March 26th and the cost for the dinner
is $20. There are three entree selections.
SWIMMING AND DIVING NEWS
Congratulations to all the Panther Swimmers and Divers for their
performances at the WPIAL Championships! The following is a summary of
WPIAL results for the athletes that have qualified for the PIAA
Championships.
Diving
Samantha Pickens ~ Ryan Koter ~ 2nd place in 1-meter Diving
Ed Deming ~ 5th place in 1-meter Diving
Swimming
Garrett Hehn ~ 4th place in 500 yard freestyle, broke school
record ~ 3rd place in 200 yard freestyle
Chris Ellson ~ 3rd place in 50 yard freestyle
Miles Molinaro, David Pearce-Smith, Garrett Hehn, Chris Ellson
~ 1st place in 200 yard freestyle relay, WPIAL Champions, broke school record, earned All-American honors Meghan Marshall, Kaila Kramer, Aryn Zimmerman, Natalie Perone ~ 4th place in 200 yard freestyle relay Miles Molinaro, Robert Mortimer, Garrett Hehn, Chris Ellson ~ 4th place in 200 yard freestyle relay, broke school record Lastly, a recap of how well our Franklin Regional Swim Team did as a whole..... Our girls swim team is tied for being the smallest school with a swim team in AAA, and out of those 30 teams placed 10th. Our boys swim team is the third smallest school with a swim team in AAA, and out of those 29 schools placed 3rd.

SCHEDULING
If you have questions about any course that
is shown on your student's scheduling sheet you can go to the
Program of Studies Booklet on the high school's website at:
http://www.franklinregional.k12.pa.us/highschool/programofstudies.asp.
Students will be completing their preliminary
schedule choices for next year by filling out their scatron
sheets this week on the following days: Tuesday, March 4 - grade
9, Wednesday, March 5 - grade 10 and Friday, March 7 - grade 11.
These results will be tallied and returned to
students for sign-off day on March 26th when their current
teachers will indicate their approval by initialing each
student's selection. Those signed-off sheets will be sent home
to the parents with the 3rd nine week report cards.
