CONGRATULATIONS LADY
PANTHERS LACROSSE TEAM
For the third consecutive year the Lady Panthers
have finished the regular season undefeated in Section 4. They
finished 10-0 in section and 14-6 overall after losing to Peters
Twp. 14-11 in Thursday's WPIAL playoff game.
The past two weeks have been very busy for several of the senior players. Jillian Bonaroti scored 23 goals in the final four games to set a new mark for goal scoring in a season with 78 eclipsing the old mark of 65 held by Olivia Gilmore. She finished her career as the All-Time Goal Scoring Leader with an amazing 201 goals and 254 total points. Liz Pavone holds the Career Assist mark with 73 surpassing Mel Matanin's mark of 55. Liz finished with 215 career points with 138 goals to go along with the assist mark. Hilary Hagen broke the 100 career point mark with 3 goals and 2 assists to reach 103 career points (83 goals and 20 assists). Kristin Sandness completed her career with 23 career wins, second to Emily Baird's 29.
Great job ladies! Best of luck to all the seniors
and congratulations on a great four years!
GO LADY PANTHERS!

COUNSELING CENTER
MATERIALS
Now that
school is almost out and lockers are being cleaned out, please remember
to look around the house (and car) for any borrowed materials that you
or your student may have signed out from the Counseling Center. Each
year the counselors end up having to replace many of their resources,
because they are never returned! Thanks.

LIBRARY NOTICE
Important Library Announcement: Students please
return overdue books and pay off your library debts as soon as possible.
Report cards will not be issued to students with outstanding debts or
unreturned books. Students are free to hold on to books they are using for
an ongoing projects but those books should be renewed if they are overdue.
Thanks!
SUMMERTIME A GREAT TIME
TO READ
Now is the time to plan ahead for the
long days when exams are over and papers are all graded. Students are
encouraged to pick up an armful of books for summer reading from the high
school library - they won't be due until August 28th!!!
MEETING FOR SPANISH STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS
There will be a meeting for any students interested in going to Spain for 10 days next summer on Thursday, May 29th. The meeting will be at 7:00 PM in the high school library. Students who are currently enrolled in Spanish II, III or IV and their parents are welcome to attend. Students should see Ms. Wills in room 130 or Mr. Stanczak in room 124 for additional information.
FALL SPORT PHYSICALS
Fall sports physicals will be offered at the Middle
School nurse's office on both June 4 and June 18, 2008. All student
athletes must have their physical exam on or after June, and prior to the
first practice date in August. The cost is $20 and the form may be picked
up at either the Senior High or Middle School offices. On June 4 the
physicals will be offered from 3:00 to 6:30 and on June 18 from 1:00 to
4:30. Schedules will be posted in both buildings for specific sports and
times.

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE
The final exam schedule is included in the latest edition
of the high school newsletter, FRHS Panther News. Available online at:
http://www.franklinregional.k12.pa.us/highschool/highschoolnewsletter.asp
FYI - Please note the article about the
bus schedule on page four of the newsletter. The buses will be picking up
the high school kids after they finish their elementary school runs. The
delay is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, but students should allow for
at least a 10 minute safety faction in order not to miss the and
consequently their finals.
Also each teacher has posted in their
rooms the schedule for review sessions. If your child feigns complete
ignorance you should email the teacher to confirm the date and time of any
review session offered.
Don't forget your child needs a note to
leave early if they don't have an exam in the afternoon.

SENIOR
BANQUET
This year's senior banquet will held on
Tuesday, June 3rd aboard the Gateway Clipper. Please note the following
information:
FYI -
In the past more than 80% of the seniors go, making it truly a class event.
The evening includes music and dancing.
GRADUATION INFORMATION
Four tickets were sent home to every senior
family. If the ceremony is held inside the tickets will be used to admit
guests into the gym. The auditorium will be available for additional seating
and will be set up with a broadcast of the ceremony. If the graduation
ceremony is held outside the seating is unlimited. Inside or out the
ceremony begins at 6:45 PM. Typically the ceremony runs for 1 hour, 15
minutes to 1 hour, 30 minutes.
FYI - The auditorium is
a good alternative to the gym, the seats are cushioned, have backs and the
air-conditioning makes the crowded conditions much more tolerable.
The gym isn't air-conditioned. There will be fans
set up, but anyone who might be affected by the heat should probably sit
in the auditorium.
Seniors need to be in the auditorium by 5:45
p.m. The administration is asking that the students be dropped off
instead of driving themselves. Parking is at a premium (much worse than
a football game). To ensure everyone has a parking space please come in
one car, if at all possible.
GRADUATION PICTURES
The Lion's Club will be taking pictures of
each graduate when they receive their diploma. The senior class officers
opted to pay from the remaining class funds for one picture per senior. If
parents want to order more copies the order forms are available in the main
office.
FYI -
Every year the Murrysville
Lions Club takes pictures of students as they receive their diplomas. It
is a fundraiser for the Lions and a wonderful service to the parents.
Whether graduation is held in the stadium or the gym, parents are too far
away to get a really good shot of their child receiving their diploma, but
the Lions are stationed up close and personal. When my daughter
graduated, I took a chance and ordered one picture. When it came in the mail
a few days after graduation, I was so pleased with it that I ordered more.
The picture is 5x7 and cost is $5.
