HOCKEY REPORT
The Franklin Regional Varsity Hockey team opened their 2007-2008 season with a 3-0 win over Peters Township on Thursday night at the Center Ice Arena. All three goals were scored in the first period, with one goal each by Patrick Coyne, Anthony Talamo, and Steve Shirk.  Offensively, the Panthers recorded 39 shots on goal.  The Franklin Regional defense held Peters Township to 20 shots on goal, with Anthony Livecchi in goal for the shutout.  The game was played in front of a student section that was filled to capacity and they cheered the team to their first win of the season.

The Varsity Team would like to thank all of the students, parents and relatives who attended the game and showed their great support for the team on opening night.  The next Varsity game is on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 7:30 p.m., when the Panthers take on the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurians at the Nevin Arena.

FRHS E-NEWS ARCHIVE

PTO FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR CLASS, CLUB AND OTHER STUDENT ACTIVITIES
The PTO's budget includes a General Activity Fund this year.  This money may be used by any organization that would like to host an activity open to students.  The guidelines are as follows:
  • Requests must be made in writing and include a plan describing how the money is to be used. PTO Fund Request Forms are available in the PTO box in the main office.
  • According to the PTO By-Laws any expenditure over $200 has to be approved by the general membership at a PTO meeting.  Therefore, funds must be requested prior to one of the following PTO's remaining meetings: November 12th, January 14th or March 3rd.
  • If the funds are needed prior to the next scheduled PTO meeting there is a provision in the PTO By-Laws which allows the PTO Executive Board to vote on requests of $200 or less.
  • This money is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be dependent on the amount of money we have to work with for the year.
We hope that all the classes still take advantage of the funds that are available and host an activity for students.  Have a great year!
