WINTER
CLOTHING DRIVE
The National Honor Society is
sponsoring a Winter Clothing Drive to benefit the
Holiday Telethon and help needy children in
Westmoreland County. Students are asked to bring in
new or like-new winter items. All students donating
will receive raffle tickets for a chance to win
great gift certificates for books, movies, and
more. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for
a dollar each. The NHS will have a collection/raffle
sales table at every lunch period through Wednesday,
December 19th.
PARENT
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP WITH TELETHON
Ms. Pursglove (one of the organizers
for the telethon) is looking for parent volunteers
on December 21st during the school day. She needs 4
to 6 parents from 9 to 11 AM and 4 to 6 more
volunteers from 11 AM to 1 PM. Volunteers are
needed mainly to help with crowd control
by directing audience and participants to their
appropriate locations. This is great way to support
the kids, performers and organizers alike and to get
into the holiday spirit.
If you are interesting in
helping during either or both shifts please email
Penny Holden at
holden3@comcast.net as soon as possible.
FYI - If you tried to
get Penny and weren't able to because the email link
wasn't working. Please try again. Her address is
correct, the link just wasn't "hot". I have retyped
the link and hopefully it will now work.
TENTS NEEDED
ON DECEMBER 20TH FOR TELETHON
The telethon is scheduled to
be outdoors for one night this year - December
20th. The organizers are in need of a few big tents
to cover and protect the Chinese Auction display.
If any booster group, club or individual has a tent
that they would be willing to lend to this worthy
cause please contact Mrs. Magness at
bmagness@franklinregional.k12.pa.us or call her
at 724-327-5456 ext 5114.
FYI - I was told that
the link to Becky address wasn't working either. I
have retyped it, so hopefully it will now work and I
have added her phone number. If you have a tent
please contact her.
GENTLY-USED BOOKS NEEDED FOR HOLIDAY TELETHON
BOOK SALE
The Reading Competition Team and
the Fantasy/Creative Writing Club are collecting
gently-used books suitable for all ages and
interests for the Holiday Telethon Book Sale.
Please bring all donations to the high school
library before December 18th.
