Special Community Announcement

An apartment building in Export was destroyed by fire on Saturday, January 24.  Thankfully, the residents and pets got out safely.  Amazing help was provided by various emergency services.  The help and support provided by dedicated volunteers is truly commendable.  How can we show our gratitude and appreciation?  One thing we can do is raise funds for the local volunteer firefighters.  If you are an interested person or a member of a group who would like to be involved or make a donation, please contact me and/or join us for a planning meeting.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 11 at 2:30 in room 205 of the Senior High School.  Please consider ways to help support such an important part of our community.   Dr. Roberta Chunko-724.327.5456  X 5205

Westmoreland Food Bank Newsletter attached “Difficult Choices and Empty Bowls” … please read for the latest information…it may take a little time to load, so be patient –there are some great local events happening you may want to know about!

Senior Skip Day
Senior students often feel that it is their prerogative to take off the day of the year that coordinates to graduation. This year, the 'senior skip' day, or the 109th day of school, is Tuesday, February 17th.
However, some seniors seem to be confused by the addition of snow days and plan to take off Friday, Feb. 13th. In any case, this is not a day recognized or supported by high school administration.
Students are safe when they are in school. We will be personally calling parents of seniors who are not in school.  Just as we have done for the past few years, seniors who skip will be assigned a Saturday detention and cannot make up the schoolwork or tests from that day. Please help us to make sure that seniors are safely in school this Friday and next week
